Horse and driver. Old town Aleppo, Syria

It is almost a scene from a different age.

  1. the tinge of color is perfect. the photo moves me, but in different directions. there is my enjoyment of a slower-paced, organic life; mixed with a wince for beasts of burden; and an appreciation that the people are carrying the same heavy loads both real and metaphorical.

    • They look after their animals well. Look at the harness, it is set up to make the horse comfortable and it is also well fed. It is a partnership of human and animal working hard together and symbiotically.

      • Oh I’m sure they do, I would never suggest they do not. I’d just rather see a horse running free πŸ™‚ I’m not a big fan of humans.

  2. Wow, it really does seem from a different time and era. Wonderful photo painting a distant life… Glad to hear the owners take good care of their animals. That makes me happy. πŸ™‚
